JewTube is a media server that provides movie and TV content hosted on private hardware and drives. It utilizes Plex as the framework for serving the content and works just like Netflix or other streaming apps.
Please reach out to me with the email address you would like to use and an invite will be sent to your inbox! Then just follow the link in the email to create a Plex account.
Plex can be used on any device. For streaming boxes, smart TVs, phones, tablets, and other similar devices, simply search Plex in your app store and download. If you’re on a computer simply go to Plex.tv in a web browser. All ways of accessing Plex will require you to log in to access the JewTube libraries.
By default, Plex has several native options pinned to your home menu. Most of these are not used by JewTube. At the bottom of your left side home menu there is an option for ‘More’, select this and you should see JewTube and it’s associated libraries. Long press on these and “Pin to Home”, this will add the libraries to your home menu. We also suggest unpinning the options that are there by default for a cleaner experience. This setup should only need to be done once as home settings are saved to your account and should persist to other tv’s.
Plex libraries store media in ‘original quality’ meaning the base quality of the file on the server. Sometimes that there might not be fast enough internet to maintain the ‘original quality’. Usually, Plex will automatically adjust this to prevent stuttering, but if that isn’t working, start your chosen video and in the bottom menu click the kebab icon, then Playback Settings. In playback settings there is a Quality option, you will likely see it on ‘Original’, select the next option down and you should be good to go!
Occasionally, some movies or episodes will be unplayable to due backend issues. Please try again in a few minutes, if you’re still unable to view the content, report the video. Reporting can be done from the videos page and selecting the kebab menu and within that, a “Report” option. In the following pop-up please describe the issue and we’ll get it resolved for you!
The request and download pipeline for JewTube is mostly automated, while we have settings tuned to grab the best available files automatically sometimes issues will still occur. Please report the video and we’ll investigate!
